Got something to say?

Almost six years ago our company reevaluated the approach to the way we were providing health insurance as the rates were outrageous.
We asked each of our employees to get quotes for health insurance off the open market and all found coverage at least as good as we were providing and at rates far below our costs.
We then asked the employees if they would accept a raise to cover the expense with appropriate adjustments for withholdings that would cover the costs of their privately purchased insurance, even with the taxes figured in the total costs were still less than the insurance plans we could get at that time.
We ended company provided health coverage and gave out the raises so the employees could purchase insurance on their own.
Everybody took the raises, not one of them actually purchased insurance.
It is so easy to claim that 40 + million have no insurance, I wonder how many choose not to be covered?
